FAQ

Answers to common PressedMail questions.

Quick answers on setup, providers, plans, security, and workflows, each linked to the page that carries the detail.

The Product

Does PressedMail replace my mail host?

No. It connects to your existing provider over IMAP and SMTP, and your mail stays with that provider. See Meet PressedMail.

Which providers are supported?

Gmail, Outlook or Microsoft 365, and Custom Email are available in the public setup flow. Yahoo, iCloud, and Proton Mail are marked coming soon and cannot be selected yet. Other standards-based providers can use Custom Email. See Email Accounts.

Where is my mail stored?

With your provider, as always. PressedMail mirrors searchable message data into your own WordPress database so search and rules run locally. Nothing is copied to a third-party service. See Security and Privacy Overview.

Is PressedMail mobile friendly?

Yes. Panels collapse into a dedicated mobile shell with a bottom tab bar, and the workspace installs to a home screen with its own icon. Account setup and diagnostics are easier on desktop.

Plans and licensing

What is included in Free?

One mailbox, the standard inbox, compose, reply, forward, folders, tags, limited rules, two built-in themes, the mailbox Lock, core security protections, and direct PressedMail updates. The WordPress.org listing is still under review.

What are the paid plans?

Starter is $49/year for 1 site, Premium is $89/year for 10 sites, Ultimate is $169/year for 100 sites, and Lifetime is $499 once for 100 sites. Every paid plan includes ten built-in themes. Ultimate and Lifetime also include the Brand Theme and white labelling. See Billing and Plans.

Where do I manage the license?

Home → Your Plan holds the key; Home → Sites shows activations, and deactivating a site frees its seat immediately. See Licenses, Sites, and Updates.

Do staging sites use a seat?

Yes. Each activated WordPress site counts against the plan's allowance, staging included. Deactivate staging if it should not hold a seat.

Security and AI

Can another admin read my mail?

No. A connected account is readable only by the WordPress user who connected it, whatever roles allow, and user-switching plugins are detected and blocked. See Security, Sessions, and Audit Protections.

Does AI send all email to an AI provider?

No. AI is off until an administrator configures a provider, and actions send only the message context required for the selected action, when a user or an enabled automation runs them. See AI Features Overview.

Does phishing scanning need AI?

No. The non-AI checks (authentication, link analysis, hidden content) run without any provider. A configured provider adds the AI verdict.

Workflows

Can rules run when nobody is logged in?

Yes. Rules, scheduled sends, snooze returns, and follow-ups run in the background on WP-Cron. See Email Workflows.

Can I take back a sent message?

Undo send holds every send for fifteen seconds. After that, mail has left the server. See Composing, Replies, and Forwarding.

Something is broken. Where do I start?

Open Settings → Diagnostics, then choose the matching guide under Start Troubleshooting. Copy the report into any support request.
