Fastmail
Connect Fastmail through the Custom Email preset with standard IMAP and SMTP and a generated app password.
Status: Supported with manual configuration.
Authentication: Fastmail app password (IMAP/SMTP password authentication).

Fastmail supports standard IMAP and SMTP. An app password should be generated for third-party applications. Fastmail is not a PressedMail preset, so connect it through the Custom Email provider.

Before you begin

- The app password permissions must include mail access.
- Use the complete Fastmail username or email address as the username.
Generate a Fastmail app password
- Sign in to the Fastmail account settings.
- Open the passwords or app passwords section.
- Create a password for PressedMail and grant mail access.
- Use the generated value as the mailbox password.
Setup in PressedMail
- Open Settings > Email Connections and select Add Account.

- On Account Credentials, enter the Fastmail email address and display name.

Special cases and limitations
- Custom-domain aliases and sending identities must be configured in Fastmail. PressedMail sends using the address configured for the account.
- Fastmail folders and labels are exposed through IMAP; Fastmail-specific labels can affect folder listing.
- App-password permissions must include mail access, or the connection test will fail.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm the app password grants mail access.
- Use the complete Fastmail username or email address.
- Generate a fresh app password if authentication fails.
- Check outbound access from WordPress to the Fastmail hosts.
This provider may work through manual configuration, but the connection is not part of the officially tested preset matrix.
Security Recommendations
- Use a dedicated Fastmail app password.
- Revoke the app password when you remove the account from PressedMail.
- See Security and Privacy for the credential storage model.
