1.8.7

Summary

Fixes for the WordPress users list in Contacts, AI Tools and a console error. Pro: people who unsubscribed stay unsubscribed when the list is replaced, and a site that runs only PressedMail AI no longer has to look at provider setup. Both editions stop throwing an error when your browser fills in a field.

Added

  • Nothing new in this release.

Changed

  • Pro: the WordPress users in Contacts setting now loads with the rest of WordPress’s settings, so an ordinary page view no longer spends a database query on it.

Fixed

  • Pro: WordPress users in Contacts keeps every opt-out when the list is replaced. Turn it off and back on for a different administrator, or delete the list while it’s off and turn it on again, and anyone who had unsubscribed joins the new list unsubscribed, even if their email changed in between. Before, they joined it subscribed. If the opt-outs can’t be read, the list isn’t deleted and a new one isn’t made.
  • Pro: a bulk import or role change of many users while the list was in the middle of a sync now gets a fresh sync as soon as that one ends. Before, the users it had already passed waited for the next daily run.
  • Pro: turning WordPress users in Contacts off gives Editor shares back. Turning it on makes every share of the list view-only; turning it off now sets the ones it changed back to Editor, unless the owner changed them since.
  • Pro: the “Proton Bridge missing” setup screen links to Extras on pressedmail.com, where the download now lives.
  • Pro: a site that uses only PressedMail AI no longer sees an endpoint and key it does not need. The AI provider card keeps the master switch and a Use your own provider button, and the fields come back the moment the Assistant, the Composer or any tool on your own provider is switched on.
  • Pro: when the WordPress AI plugin’s Connector Approvals blocks a provider request, because the same key is saved in WordPress Connectors, PressedMail now says where to approve it (Tools > Connector Approvals) instead of showing the other plugin’s message.
  • Both editions: filling a field with your browser’s autofill or a saved key no longer throws an error in the console.

Upgrade Notes

  • Nothing to do. Opt-outs from a list replaced before this update can’t be recovered by it; a list replaced from now on keeps them.

Using PressedMail in your own work? Submit a testimonial

I save hours & it’s easy to use

I have a lot of email accounts, and it’s annoying to manage them through different providers. I needed something better than what was out there, so I built it. I spent the better part of two years making PressedMail the plugin I wanted to use every day, and now I get to share it with everyone else. I added my accounts, automated the cleanup of over 3000 emails, and it’s saved me hours of work.

Helps get more clients

As a freelancer I need to manage several clients’ accounts. I installed PressedMail on WordPress on localhost and use it as my main email client. I manage everything for clients from PressedMail. And several clients use PressedMail now after I have set their WordPress instances up.

  • Email Swiss Army Knife

We use PressedMail as a value added service for clients and potential clients as a feature of our agency’s offering helping put us ahead of competition. We love the white-labelling feature, automation, and security controls. It also replaces several of the other plugins we used to use and it’s like a small CRM.
