Summary

Read and star changes you make in another app or on another site now reach every message PressedMail keeps, not just the page you have open. An old message you read on your phone stops showing as unread here, and one you star elsewhere turns up in Starred. Pro: your site’s WordPress users can join Contacts as a list that keeps itself up to date, and a license key that doesn’t activate now says why in a popup. The notifications popover and the attachment preview each lose a row they didn’t need.

Added

  • Pro: WordPress users in Contacts. An administrator turns it on in Settings, Data, and every user of the site becomes a contact on a WordPress users list in one administrator’s address book. The list keeps up as people join, change their details or leave. Email, name, username, role and sign-up date always come across, and you can map more from the user’s profile. Those fields are locked, while notes, keywords and your own fields stay editable. Members are subscribed, so the composer and campaigns reach them, and anyone who unsubscribes stays unsubscribed, even if they leave and sign up again. Turning it off keeps the list and its contacts and unlocks them. Ultimate: share the list with teammates, view and send only.

Changed

  • Pro: when a license key doesn’t activate on the License required screen, a popup explains why in plain words: every site on the plan is in use (multisite networks use one activation per site), the key isn’t recognised, the license has expired or isn’t active, the key belongs to another product, the activation is tied to another address after a move, or the license server couldn’t be reached. Each one links to the page that fixes it. Before, the screen showed the server’s raw message under the form.
  • The notifications popover drops the band under its header. Show hidden is now an eye button in the header, shown only while something is hidden, next to an Alert settings button. What the band said is the button’s tooltip.
  • The attachment preview has one header. The file name, previous and next, zoom or page controls, Download and Close share a single row, with no toolbar underneath.

Fixed

  • Messages you read, mark unread, star or unstar in another app or on another PressedMail site now update here within about ten minutes, however far down the folder they are. Before, only the page someone had open caught up, so an older message could keep its old state for good.

Upgrade Notes

  • Nothing to do. Each folder catches up on its next background sync after the update.
  • Pro: the update adds one column to the contacts table (wp_user_id) with a unique key. WordPress users in Contacts stays off until an administrator turns it on.

Using PressedMail in your own work? Submit a testimonial

I save hours & it’s easy to use

I have a lot of email accounts, and it’s annoying to manage them through different providers. I needed something better than what was out there, so I built it. I spent the better part of two years making PressedMail the plugin I wanted to use every day, and now I get to share it with everyone else. I added my accounts, automated the cleanup of over 3000 emails, and it’s saved me hours of work.

Helps get more clients

As a freelancer I need to manage several clients’ accounts. I installed PressedMail on WordPress on localhost and use it as my main email client. I manage everything for clients from PressedMail. And several clients use PressedMail now after I have set their WordPress instances up.

  • Email Swiss Army Knife

We use PressedMail as a value added service for clients and potential clients as a feature of our agency’s offering helping put us ahead of competition. We love the white-labelling feature, automation, and security controls. It also replaces several of the other plugins we used to use and it’s like a small CRM.
