1.7.1

Summary

1.7.1 makes everyday mail actions answer at once, opens messages in seconds, unsticks a sync that sat at 99/100, shows new mail without a Refresh, adds a button block to the composer, and lets Pro add Proton Mail from Add account.

Added

  • Insert a button into an email from the composer toolbar or the slash menu. It is built from a table, so it shows as a button in Outlook too, and its link may use merge fields such as {{ site.url }}. Free and Pro.
  • Pro: add a Proton Mail account from Add account. With the PressedMail Proton Bridge companion plugin active, you sign in on the form and the companion runs Proton Mail Bridge for you. The companion has no admin page of its own.
  • A short What's New note after an install or update, shown once to each person after the inbox loads. Free and Pro.
  • Empty Junk: one click in the Junk folder deletes everything in it for good, after a confirmation, the same way Empty Trash works. Free and Pro.
  • Pro: iCloud Mail and Yahoo Mail in Add account, with their server settings filled in and a link to each provider's app password guide.

Changed

  • Opening a message whose content is not stored on the site yet takes seconds instead of up to a minute on slow mail servers, and new mail's content is downloaded in the background as soon as sync finds it.
  • On a site with several mailboxes, the mail you are waiting on after a move or a Refresh syncs before the other mailboxes' work.
  • In the PressedG layout, Back to list sits at the start of the row with Reply and Forward instead of taking a row of its own.
  • Saving a draft, deleting, moving and marking mail answer at once. The list changes as you act and puts a row back if the mail server refuses. PressedMail no longer re-reads both folders from the mail server before it answers, and a draft save no longer waits behind another tab's save.
  • Back to list always works, even while a draft saves or a message sends. The save or send finishes behind you and tells you how it went. The delete confirmation closes as soon as you press Delete.
  • New mail and folder counts show up by themselves when sync finds them, in every open tab, instead of waiting for the next check or a Refresh.

Fixed

  • A folder whose oldest message the mail server cannot hand over no longer stays "Running" at 99/100 in Activity. Once PressedMail has confirmed which message it cannot read, the folder counts as done.
  • A folder that keeps failing waits three minutes while the other folders sync, instead of holding up the whole queue.
  • While a mail account waits out a connection error, its Activity row says Queued with the error, not a timer that runs for hours.
  • PressedMail stops asking the server every few seconds when sync has nothing it can move, which frees a worker on small hosts.
  • A moved message no longer reappears in the folder it left until the next sync.
  • A request that timed out is never sent again by itself, so a mark-as-read cannot run twice.
  • Six admin switches, among them "Delete plugin data on uninstall", no longer turn on when a form sends "false".
  • A wrong SMTP password is reported as a sign-in problem, not as a mail server that cannot be reached.
  • Rules, snooze, undo send, keyboard shortcuts and AI prompts refuse bad values instead of saving them, and an AI tag rule condition loads its tags in a real run.
  • Editing a snooze stays within a year, and "Later today" is right across a daylight-saving change.
  • After a WordPress email test, the status sentence names the checkbox that really turns sending through PressedMail on.
  • The Insert button's settings open next to the button, and fit to text, alignment, colours and rounded corners now show in the editor and in the sent email.
  • Pro: with thinking on, the composer's AI tools no longer paste raw JSON into the email or run out of room before they answer, Emojify included.
  • Pro: the spam check no longer fails on mail whose Message-ID header is folded onto a second line, as Outlook sends it. Such mail is now stored with its ID.
  • Pro: the phishing mark on email cards stands as tall as the summary and spam marks beside it.

Upgrade Notes

  • Nothing to do. The "check for new mail every N minutes" setting still decides how often PressedMail asks the mail server.

...I save hours & it's easy to use...

I have a lot of email accounts and it's annoying to manage them through different providers. I installed PressedMail, added my accounts, and automated the cleanup of over 3000 emails. PressedMail has saved me hours of work.

...Helps get more clients...

As a freelancer I need to manage several clients' accounts. I installed PressedMail on WordPress on localhost and use it as my main email client. I manage everything for clients from PressedMail. And several clients use PressedMail now after I have set their WordPress instances up.

...Email Swiss Army Knife...

We use PressedMail as a value added service for clients and potential clients as a feature of our agency's offering helping put us ahead of competition. We love the white-labelling feature, automation, and security controls. It also replaces several of the other plugins we used to use and it's like a small CRM.
