Summary
This release is mostly about licence activation. A site that moved to a new address had no way to activate, and a site whose own server stopped the request only ever said that something went wrong. Now a moved site can confirm its move right where activation fails, and a failed activation says what stopped it. On WordPress 7.0 and later, AI tools use the AI connectors the site already has. Two screen fixes round it out.
Added
- Pro: on WordPress 7.0 and later, AI tools run through the connectors set up in Settings > Connectors. An administrator approves which connectors PressedMail may use on the AI Tools page, and each tool picks a model from its connector. PressedMail stores the approval and the model, never the connector’s key.
- Pro: a site that moved to a new address can confirm the licence move on the licensing screen, or from a banner above every settings tab, using the key just typed in. No saved key is needed.
Changed
- Pro: when activation cannot reach the licence server, the message says why. WordPress may be blocking outgoing requests, and the message says how to allow curb.software. Another plugin may have stopped the request, and the message names the plugins that filter outgoing requests. Or the server could not connect, and the message carries WordPress’s own error.
- Pro: when the site answers activation with a page instead of PressedMail’s reply, such as a PHP error or another plugin’s block page, the message shows the HTTP status and the start of that page.
- Pro: a licensed site locks its Pro features after 25 signed refusals in a day, not 3. A moved site gets room to be fixed, and a key being probed is still stopped.
- Pro: the Compose button in the PressedG layout has equal space above and below its label.
Fixed
- The PressedMail screen stays one window tall and pinned under the admin bar when the WordPress admin menu is longer than the window. Its header and footer stay on screen while the page scrolls behind it.
- Pro: a successful activation binds the site to its current address, so the move notice clears and the next deactivation frees this site’s own seat.
- Pro: licence warnings point to pressedmail.com/home/sites instead of an address that does not exist.
Upgrade Notes
- WordPress 7.0 and later, with AI tools on your own provider: nothing stops working. Your saved key keeps running until you move it, and the AI provider card says so. To move, set the provider up in Settings > Connectors, approve it on PressedMail’s AI Tools page, and choose it on the provider card. The API key and Base URL fields are gone on these versions. Tools on PressedMail AI need nothing.
- A site that moved address: open PressedMail, paste your key, and confirm the move when asked.
- Everything else updates without a setting to change.
