Plan email for WordPress Multisite on CloudPanel
A Multisite network can serve several WordPress sites from one installation. That does not create a mailbox for each site or domain. CloudPanel runs the web application, and a separate mail provider handles email.
Map the web domains first
Add the network and mapped domains to CloudPanel, issue their certificates, and confirm that every site opens over HTTPS. WordPress supports native domain mapping, but each mapped domain still needs the correct DNS records before it will reach the network.
Set up mail by domain
For every domain that sends or receives mail:
- create the mailbox with your chosen provider
- add the provider's MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records
- confirm that webmail can send and receive
- record the IMAP and SMTP connection details
CloudPanel's own email guidance recommends using a separate provider or mail server.
Add only the accounts people need
In PressedMail, each WordPress user connects the mailbox accounts needed for their work. A network with ten mapped domains does not require ten inboxes for every user. Start with one working account, then add the rest once its folders and sending identity look right.
